In the yoga tradition prana is vital life energy, it is the thing that is moving life forward, it is everything vital and good, it iron and ores, space dust, and minerals. It is you in your Highest state of Beingness. Prana is equated in the yoga tradition with Universal Spirit, Brahma, Atman, you Highest Self. The Hatha Nath Yogis developed these systems of asana, pranayama, and bandha as means to build our relationship with this vital life energy. The more we spend time cultivating this relationship, filling ourselves up, the more we're able to stay at our emotional center, to hold our gravity. Asana the physical postures of yoga are building a cup, pranayama is filling that cup up, and meditation is taking that sacred drink. This week join me for a 90 minute practice to cultivate prana, a practice known as prana dharna. We'll move, breathe, meditate together and revitalize ourselves, we'll do so we can be.
